St. Thomas College of Arts and Science, Koyambedu, Chennai, celebrated International Yoga Day on 29th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active student participation.
The highlight of the event was a special yoga demonstration and awareness session conducted by Dr. P. Baskaran, an International Yoga Champion, who inspired the audience with his exceptional expertise and practical insights into the importance of yoga for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through a series of yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation practices, he emphasised how regular yoga helps reduce stress, improve concentration, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Students enthusiastically participated in the session and gained valuable insights into incorporating yoga into their daily routines. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, encouraging everyone to embrace yoga as a way of life for holistic health and inner harmony.
