Dr.Shibi Mathai

Dr. Shibi Mathai is a highly dedicated and accomplished academician in Computer Science with over 17 years of teaching and administrative experience. He currently serves as the Dean – College Affairs and Chief IQAC Coordinator at St. Thomas College of Arts and Science, Chennai, where he played a pivotal role in achieving NAAC A+ Accreditation in the institution’s first cycle. His expertise spans across Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Cloud Computing, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

An active researcher, he has published multiple Scopus-indexed papers in reputed journals such as IEEE Xplore, ACM, European Chemical Bulletin, and Wiley Scrivener, and has also authored the book “A Handbook on IoT and its Applications.” He has also filed a patent titled “Examining the Challenges and Opportunities of Integrating Chatbots into Educational Settings” (2024).

Dr.Shibi Mathai has attended and organised numerous Faculty Development Programs, national seminars, and academic workshops focusing on AI, Data Science, IoT, and Quality Assurance. 

A recipient of the Best Faculty Award (Nature Science Foundation, 2020–2021) and the Teaching Excellence Award (Lions Club of Chennai GKD Millennium, 2023), Dr.Shibi Mathai is known for his academic leadership, research contributions, and student mentorship. An IEEE Member, he continues to contribute actively to academic quality enhancement, digital pedagogy, and institutional development.
